Yesterday myself and my thesis group drove to Degerhamn to spend 4 hours with environmental staff from other quarries and another QLA student group. It started with an introduction to their sustainability goals and what they are currently doing with restoration. This was followed by a tour of the quarry both in areas currently in operation and areas that are restored. We managed to take lots of photos, both for the blog and for our report. It was a nice chance to see it in person and make connections to the people in the middle of doing the restoration. The day was a good day away from the computers and outside seeing first hand the beauty of unique habitats.
